June was supposed to be the month of energy.
Well, we succeeded in that, but not the way we planned nor liked. Instead of finding information on sustainable energy resources, we used all our own physical and mental energy. Vinu’s new job did not turn out to be as great as expected. Instead of learning everything about building, he is now a master in pushing a button. Even though this button belongs to a timber sawing machine, we probably will never use this machine and the related knowledge. Unfortunately getting up at four o’clock every morning doesn’t help to feel well rested and it leaves us with very little energy, especially as we are spending our few spare minutes on focusing on Dutch job searching and language learning. But. There is hope. This morning we received an e-mail from Samria Ann Qassim, our Current contact person. Current with a capital, because it represents something amazing. An amazing table. According to Marjan van Aubel, Current designer, is the ‘Current table a new kind of energy source within the home or office. Its glass surface is engineered from integrated solar cells that use the property of colour to create an electrical current, just like photosynthesis. With no cables, Current Table is self sufficient and can be used to charge your devices’.

Wow. We want this. Like, now. The design is amazing, it will fit perfectly in our sustainable little house and luxuryyyyy. The idea of owning the Current Table is already creating a heap of new energy, even without the process of photosynthesis it’s doing its job. Marije’s birthday is coming up. Hint.
